That is the question I wanted to propose an answer to at the 2011 edition of the Serious Game Expo 2011. You have to acknowledge that organisations and sold-to-party are a bit astray amidst the jungle of prices reigning over the serious game market. This article presents exclusively the essential of the lecture on “How much is a good serious game costing?”.
Through jeuxserieux.fr, I offer you an in-depth analysis showing how a serious game industry pioneer (Succubus Interactive was established in 2002!) is evaluating the price of a serious game depending on the needs and the communication objectives of the client. An original and quite unique dossier considering that it is usually a taboo subject for most companies.
With those documents Succubus Interactive wish to educate the market’s actors to what is considered the good practices; the main objective still being the consolidation of the serious game position in France and Europe.
Here is, exclusively on jeuxserieux.fr, the core of my lecture at the SGE 2011:
How much is a good serious game costing?

Did you say serious game?
The serious game is a type of video game based on the same design approach and know-how of the traditional video games (interactivity, 3D real time, objects simulation, environment simulation, human simulation, etc.). However its play approach has more to offer than just entertainment. Sensitisation, communication and teaching tool, it is a useful version of video games for the professionals. Those serious games are emerging and becoming a real communication mean with an omnipresent internet communication and the ever growing development of interactive leisure activities: a modern, adaptable and easy to access medium.
