The Nintendo DS to visit the Louvre museum

Published on 13 Apr 2012

The Louvre – the most visited museum worldwide – now has a partnership with Nintendo, the most world famous video game manufacturer. The result? A 3DS transformed as a luxury Audio guide. As explained by Mr. Barbaret (the Louvre’s general director):” The aim is to combine its rich heritage with the creative world of interactive entertainment. The Nintendo 3DS console is – for many visitors – a natural fit in its accessibility and ease of use.”

With this innovative support, new technologies aficionados will be able to discover the museum collections in a new light as the console capabilities have been fully used: 35 hours of audio content, 3D images of the museum galleries, HD photos, 3D models of major works…

If some multimedia games have already been planned, when will we be able to see a complete and mobile serious game at the museum? Anyway, every necessary piece is already available to do so…
