Hunt pleasure… one more time!

Published on 27 Apr 2012

Remember, a year ago, we were introducing (article only in French) Magnum’s advergame “Pleasure Hunt” and we were impressed. Today, after a well deserved success, the ice-cream brand strikes again with a sequel to its game!

Many players had fun putting upside down the most renowned website pages in the first version of “Pleasure Hunt”. With the sequel, it’s travelling time! The subtitle says it all Pleasure Hunt 2: Across the globe, and it delivers what it promises: the player’s avatar (a model visibly hypnotised by Magnum) starts on Bing Maps’ page (the game’s new partner) in order to track the now famous cocoa beans dispersed in emblematic cities such as New-York, Paris or Rio de Janeiro.

Those who tried the first episode will have the pleasure to notice that the game production hasn’t lost its touch, be it technical nature related or beauty wise. With many 3D mini-games rejuvenating the concepts of many classic video games, the game is even more impressive. Through the adventure, you may surprised yourself identifying Konami’s Frogger, California Games of late Atari or Outrun from Sega. The chosen gameplays give the players an easy to use approach of the game while giving the brand a better impact on its players/consumers.

Whereas it might first have appeared as a wager, in the end Magnum still manage to surprise us one more time with the second episode of its advergame; a well crafted game pleasant to the eyes be it on gameplay level or marketing positioning. A game to try for those who haven’t heard of it, even if it’s just to enjoy the production.
